Coffi Cyfaill / Suspended Coffee

Mae gan gynllun Coffi Cyfaill, sy’n cyfieithu i Suspended Coffee yn y Saesneg, 1400 o gaffis yn rhan o’r cynllun – ond Te a Chofi yw’r cyntaf yng Ngoledd Cymru. Prosiect ewyllys da ac mae’r syniad yn syml. Pan fyddwch yn prynu coffi yn un o’r caffis sy’n rhan o’r cynllun, rydych yn talu am un arall (na, nid am ein bod yn eich cyhuddo o fod yn goffi-aholic sydd angen dau baned bob tro, er nid oes dim cywilydd yn hyn!). Mae’r ail goffi yr ydych yn ei brynu ar gael i berson na all dalu amdano ei hun. Ond yng nghaffi Te a Cofi nid coffi yw’r unig ddewis, mae modd i gwsmeriaid brynu unrhyw beth oddi ar y fwydlen er mwyn ei gynnig i berson mewn angen.

I’r sawl sydd yn hawlio ei bryd neu ddiod am ddim, nid oes angen iddynt ‘brofi’ dim byd dim ond dibynnu ar fwriad da pawb sydd yn rhan o’r prosiect. Yn Te a Cofi bydd pobl coffi cyfaill neu bryd yn cael ei osod ar fwrdd pinnau sydd i’w gweld yng nghyntedd y caffi – mae hyn yn ei wneud yn haws i’r rhai sydd mewn angen i dderbyn pryd neu ddiod poeth ar y ffordd i mewn i’r caffi.

Suspended Coffee has been around for a while – but as we know not in Caernarfon. It is all in the name of good faith, the idea behind it is simple. When you buy a coffee at one of the participating cafes, you also pay for a second one (no they are not accusing you of being a cafe-holic who needs two cups each time, though there’s certainly no shame in that!). This second coffee you buy will be made available to someone who cannot afford it themselves. But in Te a Cofi the offer is not limited to coffee your welcome to buy anything off the menu to make it available to someone in need.

For those to claim their free beverage or food, they don’t have to ‘prove’ anything to get it, but it relies on the good intentions of everyone involved. In Te a Cofi all suspended coffee or meal will be placed on a pin board seen in the entrance of the café – this makes it easier for the ones in need to grab a meal or hot drink on the way in.
